A meaningful clinical milestone in the endoluminal management of ureteral strictures:
The NanoPath™ Ureteral Stent System was recently placed in just five minutes at The Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University—the shortest placement time achieved at the hospital since it began performing this procedure.
Led by Professor Guibin Xu, the clinical team completed the procedure with the support of NanoPath™’s proprietary QuickSens™ rapid and precise temperature-response technology. The technology is designed to support controlled stent deployment and stable positioning.
The patient had developed a radiation-induced stricture of the middle and distal left ureter following surgery and radiotherapy for cervical cancer and had previously undergone repeated double-J stent exchanges over an extended period.
Presented live to both on-site and online audiences, the procedure brought together experts from seven countries: China, Vietnam, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Japan, and Austria. Participating specialists shared positive feedback on the procedural outcome and the performance of the Surgsci-developed stent system observed during the procedure.
Surgsci is the first company in China to obtain NMPA registration certificates for both the MimoPath™ Ureteral Covered Stent System and the NanoPath™ Ureteral Stent System. Both systems have now been successfully used in clinical practice.
